The (Very Excellent) Liberal Plan for Self-Inflicted Disaster

10.05.2006

There was a time when liberal Democrats were still frantically trying to preserve a modicum of morality in their ranks. I can recall the times of Stevenson and JFK where moderates in both parties were firmly in control. We can recollect those moderates and others who were left-leaning, but not fanatical in their caustic haste to make the Party of Democrats the party of Stalin, Castro and, worse, Jane Fonda.

The major shift toward disaster began with the phony Free Speech Movement in 1965 and gained momentum during the turbulent transition from the LBJ to the George McGovern Eras. Here, the break with reality, the frantic discarding of morality, abrogation of the basic elements of truth and a normal society, and trends toward proffering propaganda, were the fatal sightless thrusts that wrenched the party away from its intrinsic labor support and cast the carcass into the claws of the far left. Nixon certainly helped this effort. Drugs were preferred to patriotism. Nixon was a crook and proof that Republicans cannot run a society.

McGovern lost with the most terrible and humiliating performance in US election history. He earned this incomparable distinction with several attributes, the most effective being his negative income tax proposal of $10,000 per person inviting the modern socialist-welfare state in America. No work, just money from Uncle Sugar. Your votes bought with tax monies—free! The later Jimmy Carter election, made possible by Nixon, threw much of the leftist camp into turmoil (LBJ was their guy) and a frantic and unsuccessful search for a suitable candidate, but offered opportunities for the invasion of our government by the newly-distorted legal community by those trained in activism and sleaze. Carter was a humiliating, maudlin failure with some incongruously kind views of Communism, but, like McGovern, left a searing void in the Democratic Party power spectrum leading to the need to further ignore labor and groom Neo-Marxists and worse for office.

It was Ronald Reagan, strangely, that challenged and repelled the far left in nearly facet of their now-disgusting existence and actually help fashion the zeal and anxiety for another strong attempt to elect a major left-liberal to high office. He destroyed all their hopes. They still chant hate songs about him. His conservative precepts infuriated the left and his grand personal manner, patriotism, moralist views, and more, encouraged the Democrats to move even farther to the left. They have been frozen in such a psychotic stupor ever since. This will bury them. No hint of morality here.

Clinton now appears on the scene, a sick (but slick), twisted, amoral sexual predator from some incomprehensible local political latrine in some even more obscure aperture in dismal Arkansas, just in time to benefit from the hapless interventions of one H. Ross Perot, a third party spoiler with substantial monetary muscle, unexcelled leadership attributes and soaring intellectual assets, at least in the political world. A person with his talents has no place in politics. As the fortunes might have it, the contemporary Republican candidates, Elder Bush and Old Droll Dole, perhaps two of the biggest spender advocates in the history of organized government since Octavian and other persons who had earned their chance, made messes of their campaigns and let Clinton slither in as a minority winner a couple of times. The Bush blunder was his watch my lips performance on not raising taxes, along with the recession. Two major blunders: a lie and reneging on tax increases. This series of events was based mainly on luck rather than on sophisticates planning on the influential factions of any of the respective political parties. Perot bungled his runs and left the Oval Office open to the far left for eight years. Newt Gingrich was able to flatten Clinton on the tax issues in a mere two years later and regained Congress. The popularity of Clinton was mainly based on halting tax hikes and spending controls by Republican House members. Look out for tax hikes. Seek rewards for tax cuts.

The George W. Bush episodes, thanks duly offered to the new spoiler Green Party and stubborn Naderites, infected with Perots Disease, quashed the limited intervention of the far left and subsequent tax cuts spurred on the economy to greatness. The Al Gore manifold ineptitudes are too silly to discuss here in detail so they will be omitted. Kerry was swift boated into nonexistence. He vanished. The Dow just set a new high! Watch those taxes. Especially watch the offers to put high taxes on gas prices and abolish the internal combustion engine. Do not look like a yo yo on TV when you want to get votes.

The key elements of the decisive political victories above are actually based on the economy and the tax cuts that bring growth and prosperity. The Democrats tried to exploit the Ronald Reagan SP 500 boom (check out the curve starring in 1982) as their own creation, but these arguments dim when compared to the probable costs of Hillary Care and more tax hikes to pay for more Great Society failures. Dont be a fool or liar about Purple Hearts or military spending. Do not flip-flop.

The 2008 election depends on who the Republicans can get to replace Bush and how to maintain the growth and good times while dealing with terrorism. We lost 400,000 in WW2 and accepted the price. Now, 3000 is unacceptable for the price of freedom? The left liberals have done everything they could to defeat the economy, spread dissent and discontent and aid terrorism in every quarter from Detroit to Damascus. It seems that the public are asleep when they see terrorists civil rights being vaulted above those of average Americans. The illegal alien voter recruitment efforts by Ted Kennedy and those on the Left Coast may have caused extensive blowback in the faces of political planners. Watch taxes and the economy. Please give special legal rights and retroactive tax breaks to terrorists and illegal aliens!

The twisted left may gain a close majority in the House in 2006 barring the possible crossover of some Dixiecrats thus potentially reversing their House victory, but their chief concern is 2008 where the power of veto and newly defined Presidential powers rest. The Executive Branch grows stronger since Eisenhower let it slip.

The plan to recapture the House and get a Neo Marxist like Nancy Pelosi as speaker where she can coo and faun at Conyers and Rangel as major committee chairpersons is the best recipe for political disaster since Hoover. Everything is on the table! The plan to run Hillary Clinton, a well-known Saul Alinsky Communist, is fatal to the future of the Democrats, mostly not left-liberals, as her morph into a moderate is not convincing. The far left must be smoking or snorting more dope than they would normally disclose if they think they can try to make instant citizens out of 12, 000,000 illegal aliens, hike taxes to the roof, increase social spending on new and expensive and inefficient Great Society programs and abruptly terminate the War on Terrorism while simultaneously trashing the economy. Watch crime, illegal aliens and their crime, inner-city crime and terrorism and even higher taxes, again. Does anybody see a trend here? Fortunately, the liberals do not. They are politically blind.

That plan is an excellent scenario that might get the liberals voted out of key offices for one or two dozen years if even partially implemented. The far left is apparently unaware that one third of the voters are independents. The far left is apparently unaware that two thirds of the Democrats are not left-liberals. All the liberals have to fear is education of the voter. That will happen as Rush and Sean and Ann have shown.

Their insane current thrust is apparently one of drug-induced fatalism mixed with hate and frustration and the frenzied imperative to lose again. They may well just achieve this result at their peril as a lasting political party. The interesting thing about history is the fact that is never seems to end or even hint toward a final conclusion. Begging the voters for offices while offering crime, more terrorism and higher taxes in certainly on the political fringe.

Keep up the good work liberals!
